At New Day Recovery, we believe in a holistic approach to recovery, integrating experiential therapies to support and enhance our clients’ journey to sobriety. Experiential therapy offers a unique and immersive way for clients to connect with themselves, others, and the natural world, fostering a deeper sense of mindfulness and well-being.
Our yoga sessions are held three times a week, helping clients to develop physical strength, flexibility, and mental clarity. Through mindful movement and breathwork, yoga supports emotional balance and stress reduction, essential components of the recovery process.
Drum circles are an integral part of our community activities, held regularly to encourage self-expression and connection. Through drumming, clients can release emotional tension, improve focus, and build a sense of community and support.
Every two months, clients in our IOP program have the unique opportunity to participate in an outing to the nearby Cave Without a Name. This excursion includes a drum circle and sound bath within the serene and mystical environment of the cave. These outings are designed to cultivate fellowship among clients and emphasize the importance of meditation and mindfulness in recovery.
By experiencing these activities outside the clinical setting, clients can deepen their recovery journey and build stronger connections with their peers.
Each year, our sober living clients enjoy a free trip where they rent houses and spend time fishing together. This trip promotes relaxation, camaraderie, and the joy of spending time in nature.
Each November, we organize a camping trip to Big Bend National Park. This trip includes camping, hiking, campfires, and grilling, offering a perfect blend of adventure and community-building. Clients can explore the beauty of the park, connect with nature, and strengthen their bonds with fellow clients.
